I'm sharing this to you because I myself am frustrated w/ KFC. It seems that their chicken are always uncooked (not just the fried chicken but all other dishes w/ chicken). So this time maybe we can cook our own.

KFC Chicken
4 chicken leg quarters3/4 cup flour1 tablespoon salt1 tablespoon pepper2 teaspoons MSG1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.2. Cut chicken into 8 pieces(4 legs and 4 thighs).3. In a zip lock bag mix all dry ingredients.4. Moisten chicken.5. Put one or two pieces of chicken at a time into the bag and shake well.6. Then put chicken pieces on an oiled pan. Use Canola or Peanut oil so your chicken will not stick.7. Bake approximately 40-50 minutes until chicken is done. Half way through baking spoon oil from pan on chicken to brown properly.

His other son, Ciriaco, was tasked to manage the family’s expanding real estate and construction investments, cornering juicy infrastructure contracts.But the rise of Ferdinand Marcos signaled the downfall of Montano, who was an ally of Diosdado Macapagal, the late dictator’s political nemesis. Montano himself got the ire of Marcos when the Cavite kingpin was tagged as mastermind in the smuggling of blue-seal cigarettes, thus threatening the Ilocos-based tobacco industry, the lifeblood of politicians in the north. When Marcos became president, he engineered the ouster of Montano from political power, which eventually led to his self-exile in the United States when Martial Law was declared. After the 1986 EDSA Revolution, Montano already found himself old, and his former grip of Cavite now in the hands of the Remullas, a Marcos crony who had switched to the camp of Cory Aquino shortly after the people power revolt.Like the Montanos, the Lopezes were also victims of Martial Law. A classic example of this, added McCoy, was how the Lopezes were able to establish (before the Martial Law) and reestablish (after Edsa) their conglomerates by exacting favors from the powers-that-be whom the family had earlier helped to gain political might. It’s patronage politics on the national scale.This brilliant idea was perfected by Eugenio Lopez Sr., a rich sugar planter, who launched himself as a power broker in Iloilo City in 1929 by publishing a successful Spanish newspaper El Tiempo together with his brother Fernando (Celine’s grandfather who became mayor of Iloilo City, Senator and Vice President from three times). Fashioned as a crusading media, El Tiempo’s rigid campaign against illegal gambling even caused the removal from office of Mariano Arroyo (the First Gentleman’s grandfather) as governor of Iloilo after he was accused of receiving funds from jueteng operators. Endearing himself to President Manuel Quezon, Eugenio used the compadre system and factional alliance to gain access to executive power, expanding their business to sea, land and air transportation, and eventually monopolizing land transportation in Panay .But the growth of the Lopez business empire was also marred with trickery and maneuverings, and their employment of violence to forward their interests. Wrote McCoy: “After the war, when they joined the national economic elite, the Lopez brothers moved into a world of corporate connections remote from the provincial violence that marred postwar democracy. But before the war, they had engaged in provincial struggles, with clear territorial manifestations over bus routes, waterfronts, precincts and congressional districts. The territorial specificity of local politics created a zero-sum game, a win-or-lose situation, that made violence a necessary instrument for every player.”As “kingmakers” before the war, they wielded strong influence over Iloilo City through Mayor Oscar Ledesma and over Bacolod City through Mayor Alfredo Montelibano whom Quezon had both appointed to office upon the intercession of the Lopez brothers. THE SKINNY: At the tail end of this winter’s television critic’s event, Rob Thomas, who has resurrected his 1998 TV series CUPID for another go-around on ABC, announced that he’s currently working on a VERONICA MARS feature film (based on his short-lived UPN/CW show), now that his new series order has been reduced from thirteen episodes to eight episodes.
"That means I have time to write the VERONICA MARS movie," he says. "But my writing the movie is half the battle. Someone else has to pay for it. Joel Silver does have a certain pile of money. He called on me saying ‘Can we do this now?’ Kristen wants to do it. Joel wants to do it and I want to do it. For me, that’s the next project."
Although he wouldn’t reveal exactly what the story would be, he did tell iF, "it’s 70 percent broken in my head."
"I’ve been struggling with this one plot point and I’m hopeful to figure that out," he adds. "I watched the final episode of the series a few weeks ago and there were a lot of gaps and the plotting for the original came to me. I mean for the movie, I’m feeling like I’m on the right track now. But I don’t want to give that away yet.
In terms of cast, Thomas says he’s talked with Jason Dohring, Enrico Colantoni and Kristen Bell.
"Obviously," he says with a smile.
And while there were always talks of the character of Veronica Mars ending up at the F.B.I., he says that’s not where the movie will be heading.
"The one thing that I will say is where it will pick up," says Thomas. "I know we did that F.B.I. ‘what if’ thing, but we would not go to that place. I think it would open just days before the Hearst College Graduation. So Veronica would be sort of at the end of her college career

Gossip Girl has done so well that it's getting a spinoff! The new show will be based off of the early life of Lily van der Woodsen (Serena's mom on GG). It will take place in the 80's during her teenage years.

I love muscle definition, I do not like the typical skinny body, so I personally like to work on muscle and stay thicker. But you have to lose or gain weight for what you want your body to look like. I also try to not eat any white carbs. I still eat carbs but just the good carbs. Honey I have tried it all and I think I have finally found an equal balance that works well with my body and still makes me feel like I am enjoying my life. Do what is best for you! Do not deprive yourself of the things that make you happy. It is all about moderation baby. So stick to your diet and try to work out more if you feel like you overdid it with the food. Working out always makes me feel amazing and it gets my days off to a great start. I am very proud that you are trying to make yourself a better you! Work it out sista!

Ostensibly fearing liver damage, John Travolta removed his teenaged son from the anti-seizure medication Depakote. Jett Travolta later succumbed to convulsions and died. Why wasn't he put on other medication?
For one thing, the underlying cause of the seizures was unclear.
John Travolta said his son had Kawasaki disease. But at least one doctor says the disease does not cause seizures.
One disease that is associated with elevated risk of seizures is autism. In 2006, celebrity writer Mark Ebner cited five anonymous sources who said Jett had that disease, not Kawasaki disease ("a media rep from the Autism Society of America (ASA), an executive from Cure Autism Now, a major Hollywood producer and parent of an autistic child, and a Hollywood actor-parent").
This weekend the Mirror cited an anonymous "close friend" of John Travolta's brother Joey. The source said Joey, who made a documentary about autism, strongly believed John's son Jett had the condition.
But movie star John, a high-ranking member of the Church of Scientology, would not likely have embraced an autism diagnosis; by all accounts, the church does not recognize the disorder as requiring medical treatment (as with any other illnesses the cult deems "psychosomatic").
Even if the diagnosis was sorted out, there's the issue of medication. We know Jett was on Depakote for several years, then removed. Travolta's lawyers said the decision was made by Travolta and Jett's Scientologist mother Kelly Preston "after consulting neurosurgeons."
But one most also consider than the "church" in which Travolta and Preston have reached the exalted rank of "Clear" made a practice of removing patients from anti-seizure medication specifically. In the clip up top (odd visuals are from the YouTube source), Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard discusses the process:
Sometimes they really seize and sometimes its just slight... the doctors keep them on something to prevent this. Its just a tranquilizer and they keep them on that one year, year in and year out. And then you come along as an auditor and you try to audit the pc and you tell the pc that hell have to go off that drug. And then all of a sudden... the doctor will call up plaintively asking you to please put her back on the drug because she needs this... Now I've been using a lot of medical words here or chemical words really. Just dont pay any attention to them because they're mostly gobbledygook.
It would be heartening to believe that Jett's parents listened to credible doctors rather than this sort of Scientology propaganda. One hopes so, if only to make their own grieving at least a bit less difficult. But persistent reports they dodged an accurate autism diagnosis for their own son raise, at the very least, some doubts.

***Hmmm, I don't know what to say or who to blame. I definitely am not a scientologist (is that what they're called?) but I do somehow agree to some of their teachings based on the article above. Sometimes doctors are just plain unreliable. How many times have you or people you know have stopped going to the doctor because they just can't find out what's wrong w/ you or how to cure you? So you just let it pass & deal w/ it yourself. Another thing is on psychosomatic disorders. I also do not trust psychiatrists/shrinks/psychologists. I dunno. I don't think they help at all. The only thing they could help with, I think, is that the patient at least has someone to talk to, that is, if he doesn't have a friend or anyone like that. Which is particularly common in countries like the U.S. (you see, it's very weird to consult psychiatrists/shrinks in the Philippines, people would think you are insane). Besides, how many people have died already taking these shrinks' medications? I personally think if you have problems, don't think about them, don't focus on them, don't talk about them too much, it makes you much more depressed. Don't focus on your depression, it's just a feeling, just go on w/ your life. Also, taking medications definitely have side effects (most of the time, we hear, on the liver). So I don't really take medicines unless I really need them & I would rather take the risk of whatever side effects they may have. This goes the same to vitamins & herbal products, it's all the same, you know.

Besides, she tends to hide information that PEP have no problems divulging.

When it's on Oscar, Don't Watch It!

This has been my motto eversince I've seen the movie Leaving Las Vegas. There was so much Oscar buzz for that movie. I quickly learned that the critics have very much 'developed' taste for movies. Remember the days when we loved alternative music? We were young, too much into radio, too much time to appreciate music that we found pop to be too common or boring, & we went into alternative & the like. I think that's how critics go. See the fashion shows? Most of them really, where can you really wear them?
Really, these Oscar buzz movies are too weird for the common people. Including me, really. I do not like watching movies that will make me feel depressed, what is the point? Wasn't I doing that for fun? For entertainment? Really, there are just too many movies w/ Oscar buzz that has disappointed me which is why I utterly created this rule for myself "When it's on Oscar, Don't Watch It!"

For the Academy to nominate a film for Best Picture, it's not enough for it to simply be one of the best pictures of the year. (Just try and cross-reference the critics' top-ten lists this year with the perceived front-runners.) A Best Picture nominee has to feel like a Best Picture nominee, which requires satisfying a number of commandments. Going through them one by one, it become clear why The Curious Case of Benjamin Button strikes the perfect balance, making it a 100 percent lock despite its 69 percent Metacritic rating.
First, a Best Picture has to have intellectual prestige, but not too much. So, Wall-E is out because, as beloved as Pixar is, animation doesn't seem weighty enough. On the other hand, a Borgesian brain bender like Charlie Kaufman's Synecdoche, New York, is just too cerebral.
Second, the film has to have cachet. Indie darlings Ballast, Shotgun Stories, and Wendy and Lucy don't have a prayer because their combined budgets wouldn't pay the catering for Iron Man and the biggest name between them is Michelle Williams. Then again, an Oscar film can't be too overtly commercial. So, The Dark Knight's runaway DVD sales might make the Academy feel like it's bending to the will of the people.
Finally, a Best Picture has to be about something somber and grand—but not utterly depressing. Thus, light-hearted confections like Vicky Cristina Barcelona or Happy-Go-Lucky are as unworthy as a bitter pill like Revolutionary Road. (Sure, last year the nominees went nihilist, but still, No Country for Old Men beat out There Will Be Blood. The difference: No Country For Old Men had good guys).
If any movie this year is shouting its Oscar cred from the mountaintops, it's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button: it's adapted from an F. Top 10 Tips to Commit the Perfect Crime
Every year in virtually every country, crimes go unsolved - and sometimes undetected. When someone commits a crime of this type it is called a perfect crime. This is a list of ten tips to perpetrating the perfect crime. I am sure it doesn’t need to be said, this is not meant as a reference for criminals, but rather as an entertaining look at crime and detection.
1. DNA

DNA is the surest way to prove you committed a crime. It is absolute imperative that you do not leave ANY DNA behind you and that is very difficult. The best solution to this is to commit your crime in a place that is likely to have a lot of DNA from strangers. For example, a park, a mall, anywhere that a lot of people tend to gather. Finding your DNA will be like finding a needle in a haystack.
2. Relationship

The large number of crimes committed are committed by someone close to the victim. The police know this well and they know who to question. Your best bet here is to pick someone as random as the victim. This is especially true if murder is your crime of choice. Don’t be tempted to commit your crime against someone you only know in passing - it must be a total stranger.
3. Proximity

This ties in to point 2 - commit the crime in another town. You don’t want to travel so far that you can be connected because you took a trip - just far enough that you are outside of the main area of interest to the police. You also don’t want to be on the road for hours before the crime as you may become tired, or after the crime as you may still be on the streets when the big investigation begins.
4. Type of Crime

Chose your crime carefully. For example, you are almost certain to get caught if you try to rob a bank. Chose a crime that can be committed in the early hours of the morning or that can be done very discretely during the daytime.
5. Evidence

Most criminals are caught because they tried to hide the crime - what they should have been doing is trying to hide any connection they have to the crime. It doesn’t matter if the police know the crime happened. If your crime involves a gun or weapon of some kind, use it and drop it. Leave it at the scene. If you follow point 7 this will not be a problem. If you kill someone, leave the body there. Do not touch the body at all. Do not move the body and do not try to hide the body. And just in case you haven’t understood that last part - that includes using a vat of acid. If you have stolen something, you need to get rid of it as quickly as possible and if it is money, don’t start spending up large - you will draw attention to yourself.
6. Timing

Timing is everything. The best time to commit a crime is in the very early hours of the day when most people are asleep. If you do follow this instruction, remember that you need to look like you are not out of place on the street. That means no full face coverings. The selected time is important when you come to purchase your tools.
7. Tools

First off, you need good thick gloves. The thin ones are not good enough as they can split and it is possible to leave fingerprints if they are sufficiently thin. Do not use anything you own and do not buy brands you normally buy unless they are very generic brands. This means you need to go shopping. Shop out of town and shop in large department stores where you are less likely to be remembered. Remember: very common brands only. You must pay in cash and you must destroy any receipts, or shopping bags. After the crime is committed, destroy everything you bought as quickly as you can and don’t do it in an obvious way, like having a bonfire in your back yard when you have never done so before. Wait at least one month from buying your goods to committing your crime.
8. Alibi

It is wise to have an alibi - though not essential if you have followed all the other rules. It doesn’t hurt however. One way you can do this is to plan an out of town trip and book your hotel and rental car with your credit card. Sign up for a convention and attend. Try to use a hotel with no cameras. In the early hours travel to the place of your crime, commit it, and return. Enjoy the remainder of your holiday (on your credit card) and return home the next day.
9. The Getaway

If you are committing the crime in the early hours, the best mode of transport is by bike. This will enable you to get off the roads if you need and to travel quickly. You do not want to be seen on the street walking (remember, the Zodiac nearly got caught this way) and you don’t want to be the only car on the street at 2am! Take regular cycle clothes and wear them. In the case of murder, if you have dumped the murder weapon you should not need to worry about evidence if you do get picked up. Wear an iPod and maybe a fresh packet of cigarettes - you can always say you were out getting smokes as you couldn’t sleep.
10. Aftermath

First of all, do not watch the television and avoid the papers. The police can use these as tools to try to psych you out. Avoid these things for at least a month. Do not celebrate in any way - continue about your every day life. Do not brag about your crime to anyone (that includes posting here in the comments!)
One final tip: if you do get arrested, this does not mean you have failed to commit the perfect crime. If this happens, do not speak. The police need evidence to convict you - if you have done the job right, there won’t be any. Don’t help the police with testimony. Remember, the court needs to find you guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Oh - and if you do get convicted, you might want to read this article on the top 10 tips to surviving prison.

Early today I was scrolling through the channels & chanced upon Hayden Kho being interviewed on GMA. I stopped 'coz I saw a rather interestingly handsome man (I didn't recognized him). And my attention was caught, partly because I heard that he & Vicky were having troubles, I was wondering what happened. He actually admitted on the interview that Vicky left him & it's his fault. He denied an affair w/ Ruffa Mae but actually 'admitted' an affair w/ Katrina Halili w/c is why Vicky left him! He went on saying that the affair was only for their ego & had no emotional involvement. He also admitted that he tried to commit suicide & wrote 'I love you Vicky' on his body when he did. He sounded so sincere & innocent. According to the news, he has no plans of continuing his showbiz career for now & is instead planning on practicing medicine again. He was very apologetic & begged for Vicky to forgive him & take him back. (I was really surprised to find someone in local showbiz admit an affair! Maybe because he's not that showbiz yet?)

Haaay, if I were in Vicky's shoes I probably would've taken him back. Hmmm, considering I have a rule that I will 'never' tolerate cheaters. But he sounded so sincere.

Looking back, Vicky probably wouldn't take him back. I read before why Vicky left his husband (a Henares or Ynares?). She said she will never tolerate a cheater or polygamy (and I admire her for that!). And she doesn't understand why most women (especially in the Philippines) tolerate such. So she left him. That is, considering they have kids & the man is actually from a rich & well-known family, I mean, most married women in Philippines high society actually tolerate their husbands' philandering, since it's probably just the money they want anyway. Hayden, Hayden, all Vicky wanted was love. If it was just money, fame, prestige, she already had it, but she didn't settle for it 'coz she wanted love. It's just that, we all know she's the rich & successful one & you're the young hunky boyfriend, haaaaay!

Today I am posting 2 news about 2 very similar men. They are similar in that they were both dubbed as 'kept men' basking on the fortunes of their 'sugar mommas.' But are they really kept men? I know who Jemima Khan is for two reasons: she dated Hugh Grant and Vanity Fair won’t shut up about her family, The Goldsmiths. Seriously, Vanity Fair has been stuck on them for a couple of years- there’s been several articles about the passing of her father, Sir James Goldsmith, and his various restaurants, properties, affairs, personal issues. So by this rationale, I’m thinking the late Sir James Goldsmith was like the English landed-gentry version of Donald Trump. And my idea of knights and lords is stuck in Jane Austen-ville, by the way.
Apparently Jemima Khan is more than a Vanity Fair’s fetish and “one of the best-dressed women in the world”. She’s also making eyes at Madonna’s ex, Guy Ritchie. Judging solely from Khan’s general prettiness, I’d say she is a vast improvement for Guy.
Just as their divorce settlement was making news, Madonna’s ex-husband, Guy Ritchie, appeared to be celebrating his freedom and the holidays with someone new – millionaire heiress Jemima Khan.
The two attended a London dinner party together earlier this month at the home public-relations honcho Matthew Freud and his wife, Elisabeth Murdoch, daughter of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, reports London’s Telegraph newspaper.
Khan, 33, is the socialite daughter of Lady Annabel Goldsmith (for whom the London nightclub was named) and the late financier Sir James Goldsmith. In 1995, she married Pakistani cricket player (now retired) Imran Khan, and they had two sons, now 12 and 9. The couple divorced in 2004, and she was later attached to actor Hugh Grant, though that relationship has ended, say British newspapers.
Returning to the Freuds’ home for a Christmas party this weekend, Ritchie and Khan joined such other holiday revelers as Stella and Mary McCartney, Lily Allen, Mick Jagger and Kevin Spacey, reports the Mirror.

Is this definitive proof? Absolutely not. But it makes some kind of sense. We know Guy has a type - rich women who behave like aristocrats. It’s Guy’s Achilles heel. Flash some cash and throw a drink in someone’s face, and Guy will be trying to get into your pants. We need to save him from himself. I’ll give him credit, though - at least he chose an authentic “aristocrat” (my Class-Warrior Meter is going crazy, by the way), rather than some chick from Detroit with bigger (gristlier) muscles than him.
I’m also going to go out on a limb and say that I want to be invited to these cool parties. Guy Ritchie, Mick Jagger, Lily Allen and Kevin Spacey? Who will go home with whom at the end of the night? I wonder if “matchmaker” Trudie Styler was working that night.

I ran into Jemima Khan once when she lived in Pakistan with her then-husband, the cricketing legend Imran Khan. She is absolutely beautiful in person. Guy would be lucky to spend time with her. Her ex-husband is a national hero in Pakistan not just for his cricketing prowess but for his social philanthropy work - he set up a cancer hospital in honor of his mother who died of the disease. Jemima came out here and married him at the age of 21, converted to Islam, and really threw herself into life here, but in the end the social and cultural differences were just too much, and people said she missed the glittering life of London. It’s really a fascinating story, actually.

The new issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands tomorrow, reveals the behind-the-scenes crisis going on in Jennifer Lopez's third marriage to Marc Anthony.
Rumors swirled that Lopez's marriage was on the rocks after she showed up to the premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button last week without her 8-carat diamond engagement ring, wedding band - or ever present husband, Marc Anthony (who was spotted in Las Vegas sans wedding band the weekend before).
Multiple sources confirm to to Us Weekly their marriage is at a breaking point.
"They both didn't wear their rings on purpose," a mutual pal of the married couple of four years (who renewed their vows in October) tells Us. "Nothing Jennifer does is without purpose."
While Anthony's rep insists to Us, "They are doing great," a source tells Us deep trouble has been brewing.
"He's very, very controlling of her," a close Anthony pal tells Us. "The skirts aren't as short. You don't see so much of that booty anymore." The new Us Weekly also reports that Anthony also picks out Lopez’s clothes and keeps tabs on her phone calls.
But Lopez -- who once claimed she "loved getting his opinions" -- has become less interested in his approval since the birth of their 10-month-old twins, Max and Emme.
"She walks in from work, washes her hands and grabs the babies," a longtime friend tells Us. "With him, it's almost like, 'Ugh, they're crying again?'"
Another problem: Lopez -- who once commanded $15 million per film -- "blames Marc for her career going down the tubes," says a mutual pal, adding that she's bitter about the failure of their 2006 drama, El Cantante, which only grossed $7.5 million. (Her 2002 flick Maid in Manhattan earned over $94 million.)
"Jennifer looked around and said, 'This is my life now? I'm a Long Island housewife?'" a pal says. "She hates that everything she worked for went down the tubes."

The pair, who hadn’t been spotted together since Oct. 23 -- and the very public removal of their wedding bands -- had dinner Tuesday at Beverly Hills restaurant Luau, which they left holding hands.

LOS ANGELES — When Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt negotiated with People and other celebrity magazines this summer for photos of their newborn twins and an interview, the stars were seeking more than the estimated $14 million they received from the deal. They also wanted a hefty slice of journalistic input — a promise that the winning magazine’s coverage would be positive, not merely in that instance but into the future.
According to the deal offered by Ms. Jolie, the winning magazine was obliged to offer coverage that would not reflect negatively on her or her family, according to two people with knowledge of the bidding who were granted anonymity because the talks were confidential. The deal also asked for an “editorial plan” providing a road map of the layout, these people say.
The winner was People. The resulting package in its Aug. 18 issue — the magazine’s best-selling in seven years — was a publicity coup for Ms. Jolie, the Oscar winner and former Hollywood eccentric who wore a necklace ornamented with dried blood and talked about her fondness for knives before transforming herself into a philanthropist, United Nations good-will ambassador and devoted mother of six.
In the People interview, there were questions about her and Mr. Pitt’s charity work and no use of the word “Brangelina,” the tabloid amalgamation of their names, which irks the couple.
Through a spokeswoman, People magazine, which is owned by Time Inc., released a statement denying that any conditions were placed on coverage. “These claims are categorically false,” the statement said. “Like any news organization, People does purchase photos, but the magazine does not determine editorial content based on the demands of outside parties.”
While all celebrities seek to manipulate their public images to one degree or another, Ms. Jolie accomplishes it with a determination, a self-reliance and a degree of success that is particularly notable. The actress does not employ a publicist or an agent. The keys to her public image belong to her alone, although she does rely on her longtime manager, Geyer Kosinski, as a conduit.
Jennifer Lopez, who sold pictures of her twins to People for an estimated $6 million in February, has a team of eight to help her navigate such situations. Ms. Jolie, 33, has her cellphone, a lawyer and Mr. Kosinski (and, of course, the counsel of her partner, Mr. Pitt). Getty Images handled the photography and some negotiations.
“She’s scary smart,” said Bonnie Fuller, the former editor of Us Weekly and Star magazines. “But smart only takes you so far. She also has an amazing knack, perhaps more than any other star, for knowing how to shape a public image.”
Ms. Jolie did not respond to interview requests and neither did Mr. Kosinski. Her lawyer, Robert Offer, declined to comment. But through interviews with nearly two dozen people who have worked directly with her over the years, a picture emerges of how she skillfully works the press.
Ms. Jolie expertly walks a line between known entity and complete mystery, cultivates relationships with friendly reporters and even sets up her own photo shoots for the paparazzi.
Most skillfully, she dictates terms to celebrity magazines involving their coverage of her and her family, editors say, creating an awkward situation for publications that try to abide by strict journalistic standards.
Ms. Jolie showed her skill at handling the news media in other negotiations. People magazine bid successfully for photos and an exclusive interview after she gave birth to her first child in 2006. Those pictures sold for an estimated $4.1 million, a sum that she and Mr. Pitt said they donated to charity.
In a separate 2006 negotiation with People, Ms. Jolie invited magazine editors — through her philanthropic adviser, Trevor Neilson — to bid on exclusive photos of her and her adopted Cambodian son, Maddox. But she made coverage of her charity work part of the deal.
“While Angelina and Brad understand the interest in their family, they also expect that the publications who purchase these photos will use them in a way that also draws attention to the needs of the Cambodian people,” Mr. Neilson wrote in a December 2006 memo to editors.
He went on to promise that Ms. Jolie would provide “exclusive quotes” to the publication that purchased the photos. “Publications are invited to comment on their editorial plans when submitting their bids,” Mr. Neilson wrote.
Time Inc. won the photos, paying an estimated $750,000. In the Jan. 8 issue of People came an article headlined “Angelina Jolie: Mission to Cambodia.” As in other instances, the company paid the money to the photography company, Getty Images, which took its fee and split the rest in payments to companies operated on behalf of Ms. Jolie and Mr. Pitt. Those companies in turn funneled the money to the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.
Mr. Neilson, the president of the Global Philanthropy Group and a former executive at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, said, “She is used to sell magazines and newspapers, so part of why we wrote that memo is that we wanted to use the interest in her personal life to influence people to pay attention to important issues. If Angie can use the interest and redirect it, she wants to do that.”
The persona that Ms. Jolie projects on screen tends to be intimidating and physical. She is not the girl next door. She won a supporting actress Oscar in 2000 for “Girl, Interrupted,” in which she played a mental patient.
But more recently, she has emphasized her philanthropic work, and her growing family. Ms. Jolie, with Mr. Pitt, now has a clan of six. There are three adopted children — Maddox, Pax and Zahara — and three biological children: Shiloh and the twins, Knox and Vivienne.
But she cut a very different, wilder figure in Hollywood during her marriage to the actor Billy Bob Thornton. After their divorce in 2003, Us magazine asked Ms. Jolie if she would agree to an interview and be photographed. According to two people involved, she declined — but then offered the magazine another photo opportunity. Ms. Jolie informed it what time and place she would be publicly playing with Maddox, essentially creating a paparazzi shot.
The resulting photo, the origin of which was not made public to Us readers, presented Ms. Jolie in a new light — a young mother unsuccessfully trying to have a private moment with her son.
Shifting the focus is one of Ms. Jolie’s best maneuvers, magazine editors and publicity executives say. When she became romantically involved with Mr. Pitt, for instance, she faced a public relations crisis — being portrayed in the tabloid press as a predator who stole Mr. Pitt from his wife, Jennifer Aniston.
This time, it was Ms. Jolie’s charity work that helped turn the story. Long interested in international humanitarian work, Ms. Jolie appeared in Pakistan, where she visited camps housing Afghan refugees, and even met with President Pervez Musharraf. Ms. Jolie and Mr. Pitt made a subsequent trip to Kashmir to bring attention to earthquake victims.

Melanie Griffith was concerned about Angelina when Antonio was filming "Original Sin" with her and Melanie was on the set A LOT. So...it's common knowledge Angelina is a bit of a home wrecker. For Brad to say one, single thing negative about Jennifer Aniston, considering his inexcusable behaviour while they were married, says a lot about who he really is. Ok, ok, I know I had a previous post where I was wondering if Chris Tiu was gay. But after I read an article (& more, since it got me interested so I googled more) about him I want to redeem myself. I mean, I don't care anymore what his gender is. Besides, even if he is gay I don't think he'd ever practice it, as I've read, he's a very religious guy. And if you know everything about him (& you probably do 'coz I'm delayed sa balita, especially in local showbiz & basketball, 2 topics I don't really care about), you probably really wouldn't mind his sexuality, considering all that he is about.

Ok, the title, the title of this post is not a negative ok? I mean it in a positive way, like, he's not like the rest of us. Consider all these stuffs I've read about him:

1. He graduated Management Engineering in 2007 (ok, in another article I read it was Management Economics, but it doesn't really matter does it? I think --- though I'm not really sure --- these are 'hard' courses in Ateneo --- although I know someone na Management Eco grad dun who worked in a callcenter 'coz he can't find another job, anyways, this is already 'too much' for a 'typical' baller, I mean, I know from LaSalle, since I went there in college, I did have a barkada who has a baller for a bf, she told she's not really looking into any future w/ him, because he doesn't plan on graduating, & all the ballers, she said, are like that, when they are finished playing in the UAAP, they'll just drop out of school, they have no intention of finishing, I know as well as I've had classmates who are ballers --- basket players --- & they rarely show up in class, once in a blue moon lang...I also had close friends na UAAP players --- o diba, dami ko friends pero I still don't watch basket --- & same din, they really don't take their studies seriously --- so Chris Tiu is definitely a cut above the rest --- or are Ateneans just like that?)

2. He is currently finishing his second major in Applied Math and Finance, with a minor in Chinese Studies (ok, so he is on his 2nd course! My gosh, I'm not really sure as well if mahirap itong course na toh but I heard that BS Math in LaSalle is hard, & they get really good jobs afterwards, I also heard other Ateneo players graduate in college & take MBA to continue playing for the UAAP --- I heard this from news as well as from classmates in Ateneo --- I took MBA there, although 'chicken' lang talaga MBA dun, hahaha! Anyways, Chris Tiu is different kc nga he's on his 2nd course, & of course, so much different from other basket players!)

3. He was elected barangay kagawad in Urdaneta Village, Makati City after his term as Sangguniang Kabataan chairman for five years. (oh my gosh, another thing he's doing w/ his life, where does he find the time? 'yung ibang basket players nga they will justify their shortcomings on academics, or on dropping out of school, because of basket, pero this guy, super dami & he can handle!)

4. He has a business called Chinky Chicken, which sells rice chicken meals in Ateneo and neighboring Miriam College campus. (I'm speechless!)

5. He plans to pursue his MBA abroad and start his own restaurant business. (Ok now this is the biggest plus for me, his life does not revolve around basketball, also read he's not yet decided on pursuing the PBA because it's only temporary, so smart! Unlike others who think that basket is their world! He knows what's important!)

6. He is working on a foundation together with Ateneo’s Center for Education Development, to provide scholarships and help schools set up their curriculum. (ok, I'm not a fan of charity except for those helping educate children --- because for me charity is 'enabling' yung katamaran or other negative na pag-uugali ng mga tao, but, if it's for children, & education, I'm all for it, education is the foundation of a good future)

Ayan, syempre busy pa sya sa ibang bagay like his blog & hosting job, but his story inspires me, as in super good role model sya, buti na lang nagchampion sila at sumikat sya!

I don't have a crush on you (kc type ko mga maiitim at mga tamad mag-aral, hahaha!) but sana pag nagkaanak ako katulad mu :) Medyo nadepress din ako kc parang compared to Chris sinasayang ko ang buhay & talents na binigay ni Lord, wala akong ginawa kundi matulog! I recently found out that the lead man of twilight was also in a Harry Potter movie. And guess who asked me? My mum! She asked me which character he was on HP. I was surprised & said, "oh, the one that died (you know, Cedrick Diggory)." Now, after a day of knowing, I'm getting more & more interested w/ this guy & I dunno why. I wasn't excited to see the movie, you know, I don't like scary movies. I wouldn't want to go through w/ the discomfort of getting scared at night & not being able to sleep! But now, I dunno. I had a chat w/ 2 of my friends about Oprah's career or show w/c is cooling down in the last couple of years. They said they felt that Oprah has changed, that she has become judgmental, w/c is why they (& they think other people as well) refrained from watching the show. I'm kinda surprised. If there is one talk show host (or 1 celebrity at all!) who is judgmental, it would be Tyra Banks, as shown everyday on the Tyra Banks show. I pity all her guests. Why do they even go there? Ok, they have their own reasons, popularity, career, exposure, whatever! But they put themselves & their images on the line. Tyra is little Miss Perfect (or, at least she thinks she is...or make that 'Huge' Miss Perfect!). Tyra is just gonna go on throughout her show condemnning her guests, whichever side she's on! Listen to your Body

I was pondering on this topic (Listening to your body) & have researched some articles.

Below are the ones I found. My personal comments are on *(asterisks).

Our body is in constant communication with us – we just need to pay better attention to its messages that steer us towards joy and aliveness. The non-verbal communication of our Inner Self can appear as an intuitive hunch that might urge us to take an overdue vacation or spend some time outdoors. Sometimes a dream can catch our attention leaving us wondering how it relates to our waking life. Other times the Inner Self communicates through a tension headache, chronic back pain or an upset stomach.

*Note that I did see a show on National Geographic regarding Chess Masters. The show said that the intuition is actually real. It is not intuition per se but our brains restore data from past experiences. When we react to situations intuitively it is actually based on recorded past experiences on our brain, what has worked or not worked before. This is why when we watch chess masters they are very quick on moving the pieces. They do not think on their next move. The chess pieces' positions are already stored on their brains from past games & so their brain gives them a signal what move should work for the current game being played

None of these non-verbal messages occur by chance. They are messages from our Inner Self helping us to arrive at the insight or experience that we need to regain balance and wholeness. By listening closely to these hunches, feelings, dreams, pains, and other body signals we learn to understand these messages. Valuing these messages allows us to build a loving and trusting relationship with our Inner Self.

Unfortunately we don’t know how to listen to our bodies, our hearts, or our spirits. In our western culture we have been conditioned by our parents, teachers and authority figures to deny our feelings, medicate our symptoms, and discount the importance of our dreams and intuition. Since we have been so consistently trained to look outside ourselves for logical answers from authority figures, the Inner Self is ignored. If we ignore these subtle messages we receive continually from our bodies, in the long run we may end up getting sick or developing chronic pain without a clinical explanation.

*I have one contradiction on this. Lately I have found how so much useful denying one's feelings is. For example, why cry over spilt milk? There is nothing you can do, so just don't feel those regrets & anger anymore. Personally, an attitude like that left me more alive & eliminated wasting my time on worries & useless problems. Also, doesn't it always say that a person who is healthy emotionally is someone who can control his/her feelings?

*Personally I never go to the doctor or drink medicines as long as I can still tolerate whatever I am feeling. This is because I believe that all medicines (& even vitamins) have side effects. The only time I will risk having another disease (caused from the side effect) is when my current disease is intolerable anymore. Also, I can consider going to the doctor but if he gives me another remedy that is not medicinal then I would take that, & I would only take medicines when I really need them. Of course, antibiotics need to be completely finished, else, they won't work!

*Personally as well, I trust myself more than the doctors. It is I who feels what I feel. It is I who is present at all times in whatever I do. It is I who can eventually determine what is causing my sickness.

The process of listening to our Inner Self can be simple once we know how and if we value the signals we receive. It can also be frightening at first to open up to feelings we have avoided for years, but reconnecting to our Inner Self is worth any effort. As with any meaningful relationship, it takes time and consistent effort to build the relationship with our Inner Self and to learn to trust the feedback.

Some of the things we can do to tap into the wisdom of our Inner Self:

- Create moments of quiet time either during a morning meditation, a solitary walk in nature, or just before falling asleep at night, and ask your Inner Self: “What is my body saying to me?”

- Ask your dreams at night, “What might I need to see clearly now?” or “What in my life am I not paying attention to right now?”

- Keep a dream journal and write down your dreams when you awake. Use the dream images to do some drawing or sculpting and see what emotions arise. Ask the images what messages they have for you.

- If you have chronic pain, sit quietly and relax into a meditative state and ask your Inner Self ”What might my body be saying to me through this pain?”. Focus on your breathing and listen for a word, a feeling sense, or an image to come to mind.

- At times it might also be helpful to merely focus on the pain. Rather than avoiding, resisting, or denying it, try to befriend it instead. By letting your attention rest directly on the pain in a soft, non-judgmental way, you can begin to notice its inner qualities. What sensations are there? Is it throbbing, pinching, pulling, dull aching, or burning? Often if we have the courage to get to know all aspects of our pain it diminishes its grip and decreases in intensity.

Focusing directly on our symptoms and pain is the opposite of how most of us respond to illness, which is to avoid it. By changing the way we view our illness or pain, we can begin to see our symptoms as a potential ally. Opening to the negative feelings and painful sensations by simply accepting what is true in the body, allows healing to occur within the Inner Self. This permission to feel whatever is present creates a sense of freedom inside, and allows us to look at feelings of justified anger or repressed shame and grief that are carried in the body from past experiences. The body remembers and the Inner Self guides us to the areas that need healing.

Learning to listen to your Inner Self and its messages is a gift not a distraction that needs to be medicated away. This relationship with your Inner Self is potentially the most loving relationship you will ever experience.

You should become more aware of what is normal for your own body, so that you can hear your body complaining when something goes wrong. Are you listening to your body? We all have aches and pains, but what is unusual, what is different should motivate us to find out what a strange new feeling, sensation, or whatever, might be about. Anything that you may be experiencing which feels different to you could be important enough to be worth discussing with a qualified health care provider of your choice.
You listen to your body by focusing on what you are doing, throughout the day. Many people call this being centered. The practices of meditation helps people to become more centered and live for the moment rather than always for the future.
When you come down with a headache, for example, you should be able to make a connection between your behavior and your headache. How many times have you just automatically reached for a OTC drug pain reliever when you got a headache? But, have you ever asked yourself what might have caused that headache in the first place? Have you ever observed, how often you get headaches? Could it be related to what you ate or drunk? Have you ever observed on what days of the week you usually get headaches?
In other words, healthy people are healthy rather than sick. And, when a healthy person gets sick it is because they did something wrong. So, when you get a headache something went wrong. And, it is your job to figure out what that something might have been. Correct, the problem and you should not get that type of a headache again.
There are many opportunities to increase your sensitivity to, and awareness of, the true needs of your body. These include when to be active and when to rest, when to sleep and when to get out of bed, when to work and when to relax and enjoy yourself. There is more than one way to listen to your body. Periodically, measuring your body weight, waist size, body temperature, blood pressure and pulse rate are objective ways of listening to your body. The list of opportunities for listening to your body is quite long. Listening with greater interest should be part of any program of natural healing and health.
When you have symptoms, treat them with OTC medicine if you must, but also learn to ask yourself what those symptoms might mean. Do they indicate that there is something more serious that should be investigated? In natural health this is called a constitutional imbalance, while conventional medicine refers to them as underlying disease processes which if left untreated could lead to a serious lifestyle disease. Are your symptoms telling you that you are an experiencing a medical emergency? Or, do they mean that you should simply slow down or alter your lifestyle in some way?
Learning to answer these challenging questions is a part of dealing with the problems of living a good life.
In conclusion: everybody must decide for themselves, including physicians, when something is wrong, and whether or not it is a medical emergency. The natural health way of doing this is called listening to your own body. Find out what is normal for you. And, learn to recognize when your body starts to complain.

Boredom vs. Satisfaction

I have found that I am getting too bored w/ life recently. I was thinking it has something to do w/ satisfaction. You see, I am at a point in my life where I am completely satisfied. Anyways, the only aspects of my life I consider are my lovelife & my career (& I mean professional career). And right now I can say that I am satisfied at both. I was thinking this might be the reason that I am getting bored. Because it feels like I have nothing more to strive for, I am satisfied.

And so I searched the net for any article. I'm quite surprised there's actually almost none.

MANILA, Philippines—The last time Delfin Justiniano “DJ” Montano saw ex-boyfriend Brian Gorrell was at a Makati police station in October last year, where Montano had filed a complaint of “slight physical injuries and unjust vexation” against Gorrell.
That acrimonious split, he said, led Gorrell to set up the now infamous blog about Montano and his high-society friends dubbed the “Gucci Gang.”
But before things came to a head at the police station, Montano told the Philippine Daily Inquirer, parent company of INQUIRER.net, on Friday that “there were certain things which I didn’t like anymore so I told him I didn’t want to be in this relationship anymore.”
On Friday, Montano visited the Inquirer for an interview, accompanied by his lawyer Jose Oliveros, godfather Benjie Laurel and mother Aurora Montano.
“He started throwing himself into a wild rage. He hit me with his fist. He threw me against the wall. He pushed me so hard, my head hit the leg of a chair and the floor,” he said, recalling the incident in a hotel in Makati.
When he recovered consciousness, Gorrell was looking down at him.
“I knew he wouldn’t let me go,” Montano said, recalling what Gorrell told him: “If you break up with me, I will ruin your family.”
“He made all sorts of threats,” he added.
After the altercation, Gorrell went to the gym and Montano fled from the hotel room and went straight to the Makati Medical Center to have his bruises treated.
Montano also went to the Makati police to report the incident. He later filed a case of slight physical injuries and unjust vexation against Gorrell.
‘Caught lying’
When the police invited Gorrell to the police station, Gorrell accused Montano of taking his passport. But when the police went back to the hotel, they found Gorrell’s passport hidden in a drawer.
“They caught him lying,” Montano said.
Since then, Gorrell has being sending him threats and lewd messages.
In his blog, Gorrell said he would only stop his “smear campaign” when Montano paid the 70,000 Australian dollars he took from Gorrell. (Gorrell claims the alleged debt is in American dollars.)
Montano said Gorrell dragged the name of the former’s high-society friends and stoked rumors, like on the death of Rustan scion Joel Tantoco, to make his blog controversial.
‘Why should I pay?’
“My family and friends have nothing to do with this. He just started bringing in celebrities to attract attention to his blog and he is even making money from it now,” Montano said.
“But it all boils down to this—he wants money from me. He said ‘You pay me and I will stop this.’ But why should I give him money?” Montano said.
He said even if his legal fight costs him more than 70,000 Australian dollars, he would pursue his fight to the end.
Messages from his friends keep him strong. His mother, Aurora Montano, sent him this message: “Anak (Son), we will triumph over this. This will just make you stronger. Justice will prevail. I love you very much.”
‘Love never goes away’
After reading Montano’s denials published in the Inquirer on Saturday, Gorrell said he felt “completely victimized.”
In a phone interview with the Inquirer, he said: “I still feel as if I am being intimidated and threatened by DJ and his family.”
Yet, upon seeing Montano’s picture on the front page of the Inquirer on Saturday, Gorrell said: “My heart sank. I wanted to hug him. Love never goes away even if your lover hurts you. You will never forget the reason why you fell in love in the first place.”
In the middle of the phone interview, Gorrell sounded as if he was crying. “It was very difficult for me ... you must realize that the last time I saw him was in the hotel (where they had a fight in October). The last time I saw him I was still in love. Then, the next time I see him, it’s in the media. That’s a big psychological leap for me.”
Gorrell did not deny that an altercation took place, and that Montano fell after their arguments became slightly physical.
In his radio interview and in his blog, Gorrell said Montano planned the confrontation and that he was “passive-aggressive. He pretends to be meek and soft-spoken, but [he] can be toxic.”
HIV positive
Gorrell, who is HIV positive, acknowledged that he was being emotional “because I’m not prepared [for the media scrutiny]. Prior to this, I lived a simple life in my farm. I’m not used to this.”
Later, Gorrell explained via e-mail: “What I meant was that I wasn’t prepared to see his face. A minute later, however, I wanted to strangle him. So many lies. He has turned my life into a soap opera. I’m hurting so much.”
When Montano finally decided to break his month-long silence with an interview published in the Inquirer Saturday, he denied all of Gorrell’s statements in his blog—he didn’t owe Gorrell money, he never used drugs, he didn’t know the truth about the untimely death of high-society personality Joel Tantoco.
In his phone interview Saturday with the Inquirer, Gorrell pointed out that he was not inclined to start a “war of words” with his former lover in the media.
Point by point
For the Inquirer, however, he consented to answer, point by point, some of Montano’s pronouncements.
Gorrell said that he didn’t live like a king on Boracay, contrary to what Montano had said in the Inquirer interview.
“I spent only $5,000 the entire time I was in Boracay. From the expensive two-bedroom beachfront home DJ had chosen, I moved to a single room with no hot water. The rent was P5,000 a month. I also had a yaya who prepared my food. Her salary was P4,000 a month. I lived simply.”
He also contradicted Montano’s statement that the money he sent was in Australian dollars.
“It was all in American dollars. And why does he care? He claims he owes me nothing,” Gorrell said.
Shy guy
In the Inquirer interview, Montano recalled that Gorrell had approached him and introduced himself when they first met in a Makati hotel in February 2007.
Gorrell denied this account: “He approached me at the pool. I am too shy to approach anyone. I do not approach; I am approached.”
Gorrell reiterated that he had never criticized Filipinos in his blog. “I love Filipinos. I adore Filipinos.”
In the Inquirer interview, Montano categorically denied the allegations of drug use in Gorrell’s blog.
His godfather Laurel told the Inquirer that Montano was willing to take a drug test to prove it.
“I am not a drug user,” said Montano.
The truth
In an e-mail, Gorrell told the Inquirer: “DJ is addicted to cocaine. We discussed treatment for him. I was going to pay for him to go to the United States, to [an] Arizona [rehabilitation center].”
Montano emphatically denied that he knew the “truth” about Tantoco’s death.
“He died of hemorrhagic pancreatitis,” Montano said, adding that Gorrell had never met the deceased.
This was again contradicted by Gorrell. “I met Joel many times. I know everything about him.”
Court case
Montano presented to the Inquirer documents pertaining to the case he had filed against Gorrell for “slight physical injuries and unjust vexation.”
In a resolution dated March 24, it was stated that it was “Gorrell who owed Montano money.”
In a subpoena dated April 1, Gorrell was “ordered” to appear in court, for an arraignment in the sala of Judge Henry E. Laron of the Makati Metropolitan Trial Court.
Gorrell dismissed Montano’s case against him as insignificant. “Fat chance of me ever appearing there!”
He said he would rather that Montano file a case against him in Australia.
Covering his tracks
“Bring it on,” Gorrell said. “I’m not afraid. I don’t have anything to lose because DJ has taken everything from me.”
Gorrell stressed that he was building a case against Montano: “I’m in contact with the fraud department of the Western Union and the Philippines’ tax agency [Bureau of Internal Revenue]. He would have to explain what he did to the money I sent to him through Western Union.”
Gorrell said that he had sent money to Montano, his bank and his sister from March to October last year. “DJ made sure that I’d send it to him through different methods so that it would be difficult to pin him down later. He was covering his tracks from day one.”
Western Union receipts as proof
Gorrell reiterated that he had all the pertinent documents from Western Union to prove his claims.
“I have all nine receipts,” he said. “The money was meant for our [planned] restaurant and travel agency. He said the money was for my immigration papers, working permit and other business documents.”
But when he confronted Montano about the progress of their business ventures, it sparked the altercation that eventually led to the Makati court case.
In turn, the split led Gorrell to set up the blog.
3.6 million hits
“A Filipino friend suggested that I put up a blog,” he recounted.
The blog of this self-confessed “non-techie” has generated 3.6 million hits since its launch on March 4.
On Friday, after Gorrell posted Montano’s interview, he received the most number of hits on a single day: 112,000. His source for the figures is Site Meter, an online tracking tool.
Even Montano and his family never expected that the blog would grow this big.
Montano admitted: “At first, we thought it would die a natural death.”
This was seconded by his lawyer Oliveros: “My advice was: If you answer, it will only add fuel to the fire.”
Out of control
When Montano first got in touch with the Inquirer a month ago, he said he would rather not issue a formal statement until Gorrell filed “a case in the proper forum.”
On Friday, Montano explained that he was breaking his silence because “things have gotten out of control.”
What they thought would blow over after a while has been reported, Montano conceded, “in all forms of media—on TV and radio and in newspapers.”
Blog gives back
Gorrell said that he’s now planning to redirect “all this media attention” to a cause he feels strongly about: An HIV information and awareness campaign.
“We launched it last week. Every week, I will write about it. I want to turn something negative into a positive,” he quipped. “After all, I’m positive myself. It’s an issue I know well.”
He recalled that he received 3,000 e-mails after he posted his plans to pursue this advocacy.
On a personal note, he said he was inspired to take up this cause after encountering prejudice first-hand.
“While I was still in Boracay last year, DJ’s mother called me up to tell me that she would have me deported because of my ailment,” Gorrell recalled. “At that time, I didn’t know if it were true or not. I was trembling after that call.”
In an earlier phone interview, however, Gorrell pointed out that he had learned to ignore the threats from Montano and his family. “If I allow them to affect me, I would only empower their threats.”
He said, he said
Gorrell, however, noted that he still had a lot of bombshells in his online arsenal—particularly about Montano and his “high”-society friends. “I’m not going to give up. My blog will speak for itself. That’s my message to the world.”
A TV news executive described the Gorrell-Montano controversy as a case of “He said ... she said”—a tale of a lovers’ quarrel that has reached various media platforms.
From the blog setup by Gorrell on March 4, the scandal has jumped to the print and broadcast media.
To be accurate, however, it’s a case of “He said ... he said.”

The House Bunny

Ok, as per my previous post, I saw 'The House Bunny' last Saturday.

My gosh, I strongly recommend it, it was a 'great' laugh! Anna Faris is so good in her role & she's so funny, her lines are soooo funny!

The story was great as well. It wasn't as shallow as I expected it to be ;)

Plus, I liked all the other 'surprise' cast member like Hef, Holly, his other 2 girlfriends, Katharine McPhee, Rumer Willis, & Emma Stone! Shaq was also there but I'm not a basketball fan, so there!

Katharine's role was a bit surprising, I think she's to pretty to play that part, hehe!

I always thought Rumer was ugly, I mean, compared to her hot parents but she's eye-catching when she let go of her body brace in the movie!

Emma Stone kinda look like Lindsay Lohan???

Oh, I also like Tom Hanks' son, hehe!

How to Survive a Break-up

As usual I have nothing to do at work again. So I was browsing the net & found this interesting topic. I didn't read the book/article though. Thought I'd have my own take on this.

1. Be real.

C'mon dude. I never believed that you can have a break-up w/o hard feelings. Be real. If you hate him then hate him. Do not hold it back. Do not pretend, not just to other people but most especially yourself, that it's ok. Don't pretend you are friends. Don't try to be nice. Be honest. Don't be fake. Why? This will ensure that all your feelings are brought out in the open. This is a way for you to get over these awful feelings, to not pretend they don't exist.

2. Do not expect.

Think it's over. Believe it's over. He's not a part of your life anymore. He's a nobody. Do not compare your life to his life. Do not relate anything to him. He's a stranger.

3. Do not be friends w/ him.

This will help you a great deal so stop being nice. Tell him directly you don't want to have any contact w/ him anymore. Do not think about what he will feel. Think of yourself. Think how much easier you'll get over him when he is not present in your life.

4. Beware of rebounds.

Do not get into a new relationship for the wrong reasons. And you know what these reasons are. Do not use another guy to fill your loneliness, man-dependency, ego, pride, etc.. Date around but do not settle for another jerk just because of a past jerk.

So there, parang bitin noh? But I can't think of anything else. I believe these cover everything anyways ;)

Rihanna/Chris Brown Back-to-back Concert

I just noticed the time, it's 12:46am, Nov. 1. So the early-bird discount for the Rihanna/Chris Brown concert is over.

I didn't buy tickets. I don't want to have to stand w/o having any choice. I don't want to watch a concert where there are no reserved seats. I don't want to have to wait in line early to get a good spot. I don't want to have to hold off peeing when I feel like it because I don't want to lose my spot.

I still feel bad though. I love them both so much. But I'm a princess. I cannot suffer.

Love on the Rebound

I have 2 friends, a guy & a girl, who both had very bad experiences on love.

Guy

1. Left his 1st girlfriend of roughly 7 years for another girl.
2. This 2nd gf had an affair w/ 2 other guys.
3. The 2nd guy this 2nd gf had an affair w/ was married & has a kid.
4. My guy friend keeps on accepting his 2nd gf no matter what but 2nd gf doesn't want him anymore, she would rather be w/ his 2nd affair relationship (the married man w/ a kid).

Girl

1. Bf from the same office had 1st affair.
2. The affair led her to have an affair of her own w/ a 'taken' guy from the same office.
3. Affair on #2, caught by legal gf while making out, or maybe doing something else, at a mall carpark.
4. Girl went back to original bf.
5. Bf had an affair again & again on the same office.
6. Latest affair relationship, in the same office, continued & guy left girl. He ended up getting the other girl pregnant & married her instead.

Their latest love problems happened at the same time. Then, they started a relationship together. I was just so stunned. Rebound, rebound.

After a year they got enganged. Still, I can't imagine them together, being 'barkadas' before.

After another year they got married.

For some reason I found several websites yesterday about their wedding, post-wedding adventures, etc.. They seem happy.

Maybe rebound works, it does for basketball anyways...

Gay People

I could never trust gay people. I have told this to myself a long time ago.

I had several close gay friends before. And they always turn up against me. Let's say, all of them have backbited me at some point. I guess there's some insecurity there, because they're not female. I don't know.

My other friends are used to our gay friends' attitudes. They tend to bring us down, criticize us, comment sarcastically. They tell me they're just like that.

You can't blaim me if I feel this way. I'm just a very cautious person, especially in trusting people. You see, I learned in life (too late) that there's really not much people you can trust.

The problem w/ gay people is that you like hanging out w/ them (at least for me, I do). They're just so much fun & spontaneous. I never stop laughing. So it's really hard to keep your guard when you're w/ them.

Obama & Callcenters

I am scared. US elections is coming. And Obama is on top of the polls. Almost all (or probably all except Elisabeth Hasselbeck) hollywood celebrities endorse him.

Part of Obama's platform is to eliminate callcenters, BPO's, & shared services for US companies. This is the main 'logical' reason why I am against him. The second reason would be that he scares me again because he looks like a terrorist. This is illogical to me because even before any suspicions about his terrorist connections came out I already thought he 'might' be a terrorist ('coz he 'looks' like one, like the La Salle basket players now, hehe!). The third not-so-logical reason is that he looks to me like a Filipino politician. You know, too much charisma but nothing inside.

Anyways, going back to the topic, I am grim when I imagine what will happen to the country when callcenters & BPO's disappear (or even stop growing). Just imagine the days when you graduate & you can't find a job & if you're lucky to get one, it's minimum wage. Imagine how the Philippines have gone w/ callcenters. I heard from friends working on callcenters that they really hire non-college grads. It's like we're in a first-world country, you know, graduating is not anymore a necessity. And how fast they get promoted! In one year they can become the head of a callcenter site! Most of my friends who work on callcenters are the ones who usually cut classes in college, get suspended, & yet, in a couple of years, they are managers earning huge salaries!

How does retaining these jobs really benefit the US? I mean, we all know how choosy Americans are w/ jobs! Hahahaha! Would they even bother working on callcenters & other routinary jobs?

Anyways, I still hope for the best. Else, I might as well migrate...

Halloween Costume, Yes or No?

Yesterday we had a halloween costume contest here at the office. The day the contest was announced I casually asked my seatmate if he's gonna wear one. I was hoping he wouldn't & that nobody would. I may be a kj but I kinda think it's pathetic.

The day came (yesterday) & some groups had themes, wearing identical headbands, etc.. Some even put on some makeup. I don't know but I'm not really into these things. I am always not into novelty, you know, doing things that I feel are useless...

I always try to find a purpose for whatever I do. Which is probably why I'm always bored. I don't want to do anything unless it is really needed. Maybe I need an attitude change?

Taguig Police Breaking the Law in Bright Sunlight

Today I passed by the East Service Road in Taguig going to Makati (just before the right-turn to C5). I was surprised that a policeman stopped me in the middle of the road to let people cross the street to get into a jeep that is loading passengers in the middle of the street. It was usually the 'bayaran' of the jeepney drivers who do this, I almost didn't stop & was shocked at what I saw. There were even signs 'No loading & unloading' & the police itself is the one stopping the cars to load the jeepneys. Is the Taguig government paying them too little that they need some 5-peso or 10-peso tips from the jeepney drivers?

Another way for policemen to cause traffic in the streets of Metro Manila...

I’ve learned to practice apathy. Why so? If I won’t, I’d go insane.
Look at the world around us (or our country for that matter). Look at the people living in poverty. The jeepneys using the steets as their terminal. The men drinking on the streets on a work night. The people videoke-ing (is that a word?) in the streets on work nights. The colleagues at work who always run out of money having to support their parents who are fit enough to work.
And then we have Legarda, Cayetano, Escudero, Erap, Binay & all the other trash in public office.
And then not having a true & honest media & news.
I could go on & on.
I could blog on & on like the other bloggers like Gorrell, Dona Victorina, the Professional Heckler, but nothing will change.
I am very close to someone who is close to a personality mentioned in Gorrell’s blog. I asked how he was. My friend said, “there’s nothing wrong with him, whatever they say about him, they’re used to it, they come from a political family, nothing is new.”
So there, everyone can blog all they want but these people in power (& with the money) really wouldn’t care.
It is really interesting to read blogs dishing out the dirt of people from high society. But don’t hope that it will affect them or that the bloggers’ so-called ‘crusade’ is going to achieve anything, because it’s not! These people are there for one reason alone. They are impervious. So why should we care?
We have all the clamour to have these personalities removed from television & print, but it’s not going anywhere. Tim Yap can be seen more & more on tv. Shrek will not go anywhere because she just has the connections (or the knowledge of people’s dirt).
Just don’t care is my advise.
Don’t watch their shows.
Don’t buy their newspapers.
Don’t even vote anymore because the rest of the country is dumb to elect these officials.
Just look at the the winners (& topnotchers) of the last senatorial elections.
Do not watch from the network you do not like. There are so many things you can do with your life. Watch the other networks, they have better (& more real) shows.
Surf the net. Watch free tv series, they are far better.
Go out & have fun.
In the end, the bloggers are not the losers. It is the stupid people. People who believe these blood-sucking lesser version of us.
In the end, when we get to have another president like Erap the ‘country’ will again suffer in poverty. No one will be lucky anymore, to get decent-paying jobs anywhere, jump from one company to another. Then the ‘thinking’ & ‘working’ people will be the ones left. The ones left to be able to buy high-class brands. The ones left dining in Serendra, Boni High St., Greenbelt. People will get what they deserve. The people who blaim everything else (& the government) & never themselves for their fate, always rallying in the streets, believing self-serving politicans & media personalities, will be thrown again in the streets, where they belong.
In the end, people will get what they deserve. In the end, the bloggers will survive.

I have been pondering on this thought since I came to the office today. Sometimes you really tend to lose patience dealing with stupid people. Sila pa ang galit eh sila na nga ang mali? How stupid!

Nakaramdam ako na may nag inject sa Right Arm ko. "Aray! ano po yun?" ang tanong ko sa katabi ko may edad ng babae. Di ko nakita na sya ang nanusok pero walang space sa pagitan namin at mabilis ang takbo ng jeep at puno ng pasahero. Nakatitig sya sa akin. A few seconds later, uminit ang braso ko at namanhid ang buo kong kamay. Nanlalambot ako at halos nawawalan ng energy. Nung para na akong mawawalan ng malay sa jeep ay sinabi ko sa driver "Manong, may nag inject sa braso ko at namamanhid na ang kamay ko. Nanghihina ako bigla. Baka hindi ako makarating sa amin". ( Nasa tapat kami ng Alabang Town Center I think 20 Minutes away pa ako sa babaan ko.) Mabuti at mabait ang driver, pinaharurot ang jeep at tapat ng Honda ay may nakita syang Mobile Patrol at inihinto ang Jeep. Nagsuplong ako sa Police at pinababa lahat ng pasahero. Itinuro ko ang katabi kong babae bilang primary suspect ko, pero alam ko may mga kasama sya. Nasa kaliwa ko, sa harap ko at sya na nasa kanan ko. May isang lalaki parang amerisian na marungis at malalim ang mata na di bumaba. Alam ko kasama sya ng babae. Yung babae lang ang kinapkapan, walang nakita sa kanya, maaring naipasa na nya, o naitapon ang injection. Pinasakay kami sa Police Car, ako, ang babae. Pinasunod din ang driver para kunan ng statement. Wala namang nakitang evidence at deny sya na may kasama sya. So I thought about what I was going to write next & I remembered The Bachelor. Right now it’s season 11 in the Philippines & it’s Brad Womack. I was interested to find out who he chose since I think the one he’s falling for, DeAnna, is a total bitch (I really hope he chose Jenni). So then I searched the internet. I was so surprised to find out that he did not choose any of them, meaning, no one, the 1st in The Bachelor history! Of course that didn’t stop me, I gotta find out why. It was really exciting that a local show is being produced on the coolest channel…ETC. However, watching Chill Spot was so frustrating. It is nothing but a promotional show. The entire show is nothing but a press release of ETC shows. C’mon man, ETC viewers are wittier than that. Why are you stooping to the levels of ABS & GMA? We are tired of watching these local channels because ‘nothing’ is real. Are you going to stoop as low as saying that the ‘loveteams’ on your shows are actually real? That Chace Crawford & Leighton Meester are really ‘cozy’ in real life? Do that & you will lose all your viewers. Your viewers are not the viewers of ABS who believe that Sam is not gay & that he is Anne Curtis’ boyfriend!
